In a woman's vagina there are both "good" bacteria and "bad" bacteria. Therefore, women who have never had sex rarely get this disease.

If you have the following symptoms, you may have a bacterial vaginosis:
- White or gray vaginal discharge
- Vaginal pain, itching or heat
- A fishy odor, especially after sex
- Feeling hot while urinating
- Itching outside the vagina

If you don't have the disease, follow these basic precautions: Do not have sex or limit sex with many people and do not douche.
