1. What is the antibiotic cefotaxime?

Cefotaxime is incompatible with alkaline solutions such as sodium bicarbonate solution. To prepare intravenous solutions, solutions such as NaCl 0.9%, Glucose 5%, Glucose and NaCl, Ringer lactate or any intravenous solution with a pH of 5 to 7 must be used.
