When a child has a food allergy, the child's immune system reacts creating antibodies to the food as if it were a virus, this immune response produces allergy symptoms.

Older children and caregivers should learn to use needles.

Food allergies tend to be more dangerous than food intolerances. Usually children with food allergies will need to avoid the allergenic food completely. Food intolerances are usually not serious. Children can eat small amounts of this substance.
