Haginat 250 / Haginat 500 is an oral antibiotic, used to treat bacterial infections. This is a prescription drug, the patient must use the drug correctly and at the correct dose.

1. What is Haginat 250/ Haginat 500?

Haginat 250 / Haginat 500 is an oral antibiotic with the active ingredient cefuroxime axetil, a 2nd generation cephalosporin antibiotic. The drug is prepared in the form of film-coated tablets. The drug has a bactericidal effect by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell membranes.

Haginat 250 / Haginat 500 is indicated in adults in monotherapy and in combination regimens for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible bacteria such as upper respiratory tract infections such as otitis media, sinusitis, oral infections, tonsillitis, pharyngitis; lower respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis, pneumonia; urinary - genitourinary infections such as cystitis, pyelonephritis, urethritis, gonorrhea; skin and soft tissue infections such as boils, pustules, impetigo...

3. Dosage, how to use Haginat 250 / Haginat 500

Haginat 250 / Haginat 500 film-coated tablets provide the optimal solution for adult patients with various infectious diseases, reducing the inconvenience of having to divide tablets. Haginat 250 oral tablet is the right choice for mild to moderate infections while Haginat 500 is recommended for more severe infections. Note the dose reduction in patients with renal impairment.
Patients can use Haginat 250 / Haginat 500 immediately after meals to increase the effectiveness of the drug. The drug should be taken at least 2 hours apart with antacids or H2 inhibitors because these drugs increase gastric pH, reduce absorption of Haginat.
Suggested dosage level:
Mild to moderate infections: 250mg/time x 2 times/day. Severe infections (bronchitis, pneumonia): 500mg/time x 2 times/day. Uncomplicated gonorrhea: Take a single dose of 1g. Patients need to take the drug for the entire course of 5-10 days, usually 7 days.

4. Note when using Haginat 250 / Haginat 500

Patients need to discuss with their doctor their medical history, allergy history and chronic medications before taking the drug. Use should be avoided if you have a history of severe allergy to cefuroxime, cephalosporins or betalactams. Medicines can interact with other medications you are taking, so you will need to be evaluated and advised by your doctor or pharmacist before using them.
The drug crosses the placenta and is excreted in breast milk, so it should be used with caution in nursing mothers.
When using Haginat 250 / Haginat 500, you may experience side effects of the drug such as diarrhea, lumpy rash, sometimes Candida infection... Not all patients experience side effects. unwanted side effects of the drug, and not all patients experience all side effects of the drug.
