2. How to use Homatropaire

Homatropaire is an eye drop, to apply the medicine, wash your hands first. To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eyes or any other surface. If you are wearing contact lenses, remove them before using Homatropaire eye drops. Wait at least 15 minutes before putting your contact lenses back on. You need to tilt your head back, look up and pull your lower eyelid down to instill the medicine. Hold the dropper directly above your eye and place one drop in the eye. Then you look down and gently close your eyes for 1-2 minutes. Place a finger in the corner of the eye (near the nose) and press gently for 2 to 3 minutes. This will prevent Homatropaire from leaking out. You need to try not to rub your eyes and not blink. Do the same with the other eye if you are prescribed medication for both eyes. If you are using Homatropaire on a regular schedule, instill it usually 2 to 3 times daily, up to every 3 to 4 hours, or as directed by your doctor. Do not wash the dropper, it is necessary to change the dropper cap after each use. Do not use Homatropaire if it turns brown or cloudy or if it contains particles. If you are using an eye medication other than Homatropaire (e.g. drops or ointment), wait at least 5-10 minutes before using other medicines. You should use eye drops before applying eye ointment. If you use Homatropaire on a regular schedule, use it regularly to get the most benefit. To avoid forgetting to take your medication, take it at the same times each day. Continue using Homatropaire for the full prescribed time. Inform your doctor if your condition does not improve or if it worsens after using Homatropaire.
