Razadyne: Uses, indications and precautions when using

Razadyne is used to treat memory loss associated with Alzheimer's disease. The drug does not work to cure Alzheimer's disease, but it can help improve memory, cognition, and the ability to perform daily functions. Razadyne works to restore the balance of certain neurotransmitters) in the brain.

Razadyne is indicated in the following cases:

Take Razadyne by mouth with food, usually twice daily at breakfast and dinner, or as directed by your doctor. Take the medicine with plenty of water unless otherwise directed. To reduce your risk of side effects, your dose of Razadyne will be gradually increased until your target dose is reached. Your dose is calculated based on your medical condition and response to therapy, up to 24 milligrams per day.
If you are using the liquid form of Razadyne, read the manufacturer's leaflet and follow the instructions exactly. Use the included measuring device to measure the dose of your medication. Mix the medicine with about 120ml of non-alcoholic beverage, stir and drink the whole mixture.
If you stop taking Razadyne for more than 3 days, your doctor may ask you to start it again at a low dose and gradually increase your dose to reduce your risk of side effects.
Use Razadyne medicine regularly to get the most benefit from it. Do not stop taking the medicine or increase the dose without your doctor's instructions.

Before taking Razadyne, tell your doctor if you are allergic to this medicine or to daffodils and to any other allergies, if any. Razadyne products may contain ingredients that do not work, and they may cause allergic reactions or other problems.

Before using Razadyne, tell your doctor about all prescription and nonprescription/herbal medicines you may use, especially of: Anticholinergics (e.g. Atropine, diphenhydramine, scopolamine, tolterodine), high-dose aspirin used for arthritis, cholinergic drugs (eg, Bethanechol), cholinesterase inhibitors (such as Neostigmine), long-term use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, naproxen), medicines that affect the removal of galantamine from your body (such as azole antifungals including ketoconazole, amitriptyline, antidepressants including paroxetine, quinidine).
Also report the use of cardiac drugs (those that decrease heart rate or block AV impulse conduction) such as: Beta-blockers (including metoprolol, propranolol), digoxin.
Many medicines contain pain relievers/fever reducers (NSAIDs such as aspirin, ibuprofen or naproxen), which, if taken with Razadyne, may increase the risk of stomach/intestinal bleeding. However, you should continue to take low-dose aspirin, for specific medical reasons such as heart attack or stroke prevention.

If you or someone else has overdosed on Razadyne and has severe symptoms such as fainting or difficulty breathing, call 911 immediately. Symptoms of Razadyne overdose may include muscle weakness or seizures, severe stomach cramps, slow or shallow breathing, slow/fast/irregular heartbeat, fainting.
If you miss a dose of Razadyne, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose, take your next dose of Razadyne at the usual time, and do not double your usual dose.

Store Razadyne at room temperature (25 degrees Celsius), protected from light and moisture. It is allowed to store for a short time from at a temperature of 15-30 degrees Celsius. Do not store in the bathroom, do not freeze the medicine, keep the medicine out of the reach of children and pets. Dispose of Razadyne appropriately when it has expired or is no longer needed by you.
