3. Usage of Desfonak


3.1. How to use Desfonak Patients use Desfonak through injection. Desfonak drug is allowed to enter the patient's body through intramuscular injection, slow intravenous infusion and subcutaneous infusion through a metered infusion machine.
For intramuscular and subcutaneous injection: Add 2 or 5ml of sterile water to 1 vial to get a solution with a concentration of 250mg/ml or 100mg/ml respectively. For intravenous infusion: Add 0.9% Sodium Chloride solution, Ringer Lactate solution or 5% Dextrose solution to 1 vial. Infusion at a rate not to exceed 15 mg/kg/hour for the first 1000 mg. Treatment of acute iron poisoning:
Adults: Use by intramuscular route, each injection is 4-12 hours apart with the first dose of 1g, after about 4 hours, inject the next dose with a dose of 0.5g. The maximum dose used in a day is 6g. Administer intravenously with a maximum daily dose not exceeding 6g and an infusion rate of 15mg/kg/hour. Children: The maximum dose used in a day should not exceed 6g.
