Uses of the drug Govarom


Govarom drug has the main ingredients Tobramycin and Dexamethasone, mainly used for the topical treatment of inflammatory or bacterial eye conditions, conjunctivitis blepharitis, conjunctivitis of the eyeball, keratitis and keratitis anterior portion of the eyeball.

1. What is Govarom?

Govarom is prepared and packaged in the form of an eye drop suspension with two main ingredients, Tobramycin and Dexamethasone, with concentrations of 15mg and 5mg, respectively. The use of the two active ingredients above plays a very important role:
Tobramycin: An antibiotic with bactericidal effect by inhibiting protein synthesis in susceptible bacteria. From there, it reduces the activity and proliferation of bacteria in the body. However, the use of Govarom is not recommended for the following subjects:
Keratitis caused by Herpes simplex virus, Vaccinia, Varicella or other viruses; Fungal infections of the eye; After surgical removal of corneal foreign body uncomplicated.

2. Instructions on how to take Govarom


How to use: Use drops directly into the eyes according to the indicated dose.
Reference dosage:
Eye drops 1-2 drops every 4-6 hours; In the first 24 - 48 hours the dose can be increased up to a maximum of 1-2 drops every 2 hours.

3. Side effects of the drug Govarom


At therapeutic doses, Govarom is well tolerated. However, the process of using Govarom, patients may still experience side effects such as:
Swollen or itchy eyelids, conjunctival congestion; Increased intraocular pressure, glaucoma, optic nerve damage, posterior subcapsular cataract or delayed wound healing; Secondary eye infections; Infections should be considered during long-term steroid use. 4. Notes when using Govarom
