Uses of the drug Mildocap

Mildocap is an ACE inhibitor used to treat high blood pressure, which works by blocking a substance in the body that causes blood vessels to constrict. To ensure effective treatment and avoid side effects, patients need to take the drug exactly as directed by a doctor or pharmacist.

1. What is the effect of Mildocap?

What does Mildocap do? Before learning about the use of the drug, let's find out what Mildocap is and does not contain any active ingredients? Mildocap is a prescription medication with the active ingredient captopril, which belongs to the angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEI) class of drugs.
The drug has a captopril content in each tablet of 25mg and is made in the form of a capsule. The drug can be used alone or in combination with other drugs in the treatment of hypertension. Mildocap is also used to treat heart failure in some patients after a heart attack. Starting medication within the first few days after a heart attack increases survival rates.
In addition, Mildocap is also used to treat kidney problems caused by diabetes (diabetic nephropathy).

2. Some notes to know when using Mildocap

If you have diabetes, do not use Mildocap together with any medicine containing Aliskiren (Rasilez). You should not use this medicine if you have a history of allergy to the drug or to any other ACE inhibitor, such as Benazepril, Enalapril, quinapril, Ramipril, or Trandolapril.
Avoid taking Mildocap with Aliskiren if you have kidney problems.
To make sure it's safe to use your medicine, tell your doctor if you have:
Kidney disease (or are on dialysis); Liver failure; Diabetes; Connective tissue disease such as Sjogren's syndrome, Marfan's syndrome, scleroderma, lupus, or rheumatoid arthritis; Ever had an organ transplant. Mildocap should not be used during pregnancy, as it can cause injury or death to the unborn baby, especially in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. If you become pregnant, stop taking the medicine and let your doctor know right away. Mildocap can pass into breast milk and harm a nursing baby, so it should not be used while breastfeeding.

3. How to use Mildocap?

Take Mildocap exactly as directed by your doctor. Read the instructions for use carefully and follow them exactly. Patients need to take the drug at least one hour before eating on an empty stomach. The usual dose is 1 tablet / time but sometimes can be increased to 2 tablets / time, taken three times a day but not more than 150mg (ie 6 Mildocap tablets) in a day. If you have persistent vomiting, diarrhea, or sweat more than usual, call your doctor right away. During the use of Mildocap you should drink a lot of water every day. If surgery is needed, tell the surgeon in advance that you are using Mildocap. You may have to stop the medicine for a short time. If you are using Mildocap to treat high blood pressure, keep using it even if you feel well. You may need to take blood pressure medication for the rest of your life.

4. What should be avoided when using Mildocap?

During the use of Mildocap, patients should note the following to avoid:
Drinking alcohol can lower blood pressure and increase certain side effects of Mildocap. Do not use salt substitutes (a low-sodium salt that reduces the risk of high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease) or potassium supplements while taking Mildocap, unless your doctor tells you to. Avoid overheating or dehydration when exercising and in hot weather. Ask your doctor about the type and amount of fluids you should drink. Avoid strenuous exercise without your doctor's approval if you are using Mildocap to treat heart failure.

5. Side effects when using Mildocap

Dizziness, loss of taste, and dry cough may occur as the body adapts to the drug.
Possible serious side effects include: fainting, heart palpitations, symptoms of high blood potassium levels (such as muscle weakness, slow or irregular heartbeat), signs of infection ( such as fever, chills, persistent sore throat), cloudy urine.
Mildocap can be used to prevent or treat kidney problems, but it can also make it worse or cause serious kidney problems. While taking the medicine, your doctor will check your kidney function. Tell your doctor right away if you have any signs of kidney problems such as a change in the amount of urine.
Mildocap rarely causes serious liver problems. If you notice any of the following serious side effects: yellowing eyes, yellow skin, dark urine, severe stomach or abdominal pain, vomiting, persistent nausea, call your doctor.
Anaphylactic reactions to this drug are very rare. However, get medical help right away if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching, swelling of the throat, face, tongue, severe dizziness, trouble breathing.
