Ultomiris is used to treat paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) in adults and children 1 month of age and older.
It is used to treat atypical hemolytic syndrome (aHUS) in adults and children over 1 month of age. This medication is not used to treat HUS that is associated with Shiga toxin-producing E. coli bacteria.
Ultomiris is also used to treat adults with myasthenia gravis (gMG) who are positive for anti-acetylcholine receptor (AChR) antibodies.

Ultomiris is given intravenously. Usually given over about 2 hours in adults and up to 4 hours in children. If an adult has PNH or aHUS, first and second doses are given 2 weeks apart, then infusion every 8 weeks.
Children 1 month of age and older with aHUS, take the dose as prescribed by the doctor, can take the first dose and the second dose 2 weeks apart, then every 4 weeks or every 8 weeks, depending on on the child's weight.
