Acetylcysteine ​​is used as a mucolytic agent, dissolving phlegm and as an antidote in paracetamol overdose.
Vacomuc 200 works to reduce the consistency of sputum in purulent or non-purulent respiratory mucosa by cleaving the disulfide bridge in the mucoprotein and facilitating the expulsion of sputum by coughing, postural drainage or by mechanical methods. Vacomuc is used to protect the liver from paracetamol overdose, by maintaining or restoring the liver's concentration of glutathione, which inactivates the intermediate metabolite of paracetamol. In paracetamol overdose, large amounts of this metabolite are produced because the main metabolite (glucuronide and sulfate conjugates) becomes saturated. Vaccomuc can protect liver cells if treated early 12 hours after paracetamol overdose. The earlier treatment is started, the more effective it is.
Vacomuc is also used topically for tear-free treatment. After oral administration, Vacomuc is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and metabolized in the liver. The drug reaches peak plasma concentrations about 0.5 to 1 hour after oral doses of 200 to 600 mg.

How to use

Adults, children > 7 years old: 200mg/time x 3 times/day. The maximum dose should not exceed 600mg/day Children 2-7 years old: 200mg/time x 2 times/day. Children < 2 years old: 50mg/time x 2-3 times/day. Treatment of paracetamol overdose:
Initial dose 140 mg/kg. After 4 hours, take once at a dose of 70 mg/kg and take a total of 17 more times. Vacomuc is most effective when taken within 8 hours of a paracetamol overdose. The later it is used, the lower the efficiency will be. Starting treatment more than 24 hours later may still be beneficial.
