Main active ingredient: Piracetam 800mg. Excipients: Lactose, corn starch, DST, talcum powder, HPMC, PEG 6000, magnesium stearate, aerosil, titanium dioxide, povidone, quinoline lake gold, ethanol 96% and RO water. Zancetam is prepared in the form of long tablets with 800mg content, blisters of 10 tablets, boxes of 10 blisters and is recommended for use in adults.
1.2. What diseases does Zancetam treat? Zancetam is prescribed by a doctor for the following cases:
Treatment of symptoms of dizziness. In the elderly: Memory impairment, dizziness, poor concentration or alertness, mood swings, behavioral disturbances, poor attention to self and dementia due to multiple cerebral infarctions. Acute ischemic stroke. Treatment of alcoholism. Treatment of sickle cell anemia. Used as adjuvant in the treatment of myoclonic tremor of cortical origin. Contraindications of Zancetam include:

2. Usage of Zancetam


2.1. How to take Zancetam Zancetam is taken orally. Take Zancetam with a sufficient amount of filtered water. Patients should take the drug before meals to improve absorption. Do not mix Zancetam with any other mixture. Follow the correct dose of Zancetam as directed by the doctor 2.2. Dosage of Zancetam The usual dose of Zancetam is 30-160 mg/kg/day, divided equally into 2 times or 3-4 times, depending on indications. In severe cases, the dose can be increased to 12g/day. Long-term treatment of psychosomatic syndromes in the elderly: 1.2 - 2.4 g/day, depending on the case. The dose can be as high as 4.8 g/day during the first few weeks. Treatment of alcoholism: 12g/day during the first period of alcohol withdrawal. Maintenance treatment: Take 2.4g/day. Cognitive impairment after brain injury (with or without dizziness): Initial dose is 9-12g/day, maintenance dose is 2.4g drug, taken for at least 3 weeks. Sickle cell anemia: 160 mg/kg/day, divided equally into 4 times. Treatment of myoclonus, piracetam is used at a dose of 7.2 g / day, divided into 2-3 times. Depending on response, every 3 to 4 days, increase by 4.8 g daily up to a maximum dose of 20 g/day. Once the optimal dose of piracetam has been reached, a reduction in the dose of concomitant drugs should be sought. Handling missed dose:
Take the dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next dose, take your next dose as scheduled. Do not take twice the recommended dose. Treatment of overdose:
Piracetam is very benign and non-toxic even at very high doses. It is not necessary to take special measures in case of an overdose.

3. Notes when using Zancetam


Because piracetam is eliminated by the kidneys, the increased half-life is directly related to the degree of renal impairment in the patient and the creatinine clearance. Therefore, caution should be exercised when administering Zancetam to patients with renal impairment. Renal function should be monitored in these patients and in elderly patients. When the creatinine clearance is < 60 ml/min or when the serum creatinine is above 1.25 mg/100 ml, it is necessary to adjust the oral dose according to the instructions of the physician. 4. Side effects of the drug Zancetam

5. Zancetam drug interactions


It is still possible to continue with the classic treatment of alcoholism (vitamins and sedatives) in case the patient is vitamin deficient or agitated. There has been one case of interaction between Zancetam and thyroid serum when used concurrently: Confusion, irritability and sleep disturbance. In one patient, prothrombin time stabilized on warfarin was increased again with Zancetam.
