Hi, you can check yourself by: Wash your hands, put your finger in the vagina until you feel your cervix. If the cord is felt from the cervix, it means the IUD is in the right position. You can only touch, do not pull the cord out because it may change the position of the IUD. You should have your IUD checked every month or up to every 6 months to make sure it's still in place.
