Uses of Asmanex

Asmanex is an inhaler that contains the active ingredient mometasone furoate, a corticosteroid. Asmanex is indicated in the treatment of respiratory diseases, prevention of asthma attacks.

Asmanex contains the active ingredient Mometasone of the corticosteroid group, which is used to control and prevent symptoms caused by asthma (such as asthmatic wheezing, shortness of breath...). Good control of asthma symptoms helps patients maintain normal life activities, reducing the impact on study and work.
Asmanex has the ability to inhibit the attachment of leukocytes to the damaged vessel wall. It then prevents inflammatory cells from moving to the damaged area, constricting the blood vessels, reducing the permeability of blood vessels and making it easier for the patient to breathe.
Asmanex is not a medicine for acute asthma, it does not work immediately after use.

Asmanex can be used in the treatment of symptoms of allergic rhinitis or for the prophylaxis of seasonal allergic rhinitis. Nasal polyps in adults. Use in asthma maintenance therapy to prevent or supplement asthma when corticosteroids are needed to reduce or eliminate the need for oral corticosteroids.

Asmanex is contraindicated for people with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Asmanex should not be used in patients with acute bronchospasm in an asthmatic state or in children under 4 years of age.

Dosage of Asmanex:
Adults, children > 12 years old: 2 sprays (50 mcg/time) in one nostril x 1 time/day (total dose 200 mcg/day). Once symptoms have been controlled, reduce the dose to 1 spray in each nostril once a day. When needed, the dose can be increased to a maximum of 4 sprays in one nostril once a day. Children 2-11 years old: 1 spray (50 mcg/time) in one nostril x 1 time/day (total dose 100mcg/day). Improve symptoms within 11 hours of the first dose. How to use:
Use under the direction of a doctor. If this is your first time using Asmanex ampoules or if you haven't used the ampoules for more than 5 days, test the spray out to see if the ampoules are working properly. Spray the medicine away from your face to avoid getting it in your eyes. Shake the ampoule well before each use. Inhale Asmanex by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually twice a day, morning and evening. If the dose is 2 inhalations at a time, after taking 1 inhalation, wait at least 1 minute before taking a 2nd inhalation. If you are taking several different inhalers at the same time, wait at least 1 minute between each inhalation. inhale the medicine and note the last use of Asmanex (corticosteroid). To prevent dry mouth, hoarseness and the risk of oral infections, rinse your mouth with clean water after each use of the medicine. Do not swallow mouthwash. Wipe down the mouthpiece once a week with a dry paper towel. Take care not to get the inhaler wet, or to disassemble the inhaler. Asmanex is most effective when taken with evenly spaced doses. Patients need to take the medication regularly for it to be effective. Do not change your dose, use it more often, or stop using it without consulting your doctor. If the patient is being treated with another corticosteroid orally (eg, prednisolone) the drug should not be stopped unless directed by the doctor. It may take 1-2 weeks before the medication is fully effective.
