Joining Hands to Build a Modern, Globally Integrated Healthcare Ecosystem

The cooperation agreement between Vinmec Healthcare System and Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) marks an important step forward in developing an ecosystem that connects healthcare, education, and research. This collaboration is part of Vinmec’s long-term strategy to establish an internationally standardized education–research–clinical ecosystem in Vietnam, with VNU-HCM being one of its first strategic partners.

Moreover, modern healthcare cannot be separated from education and science–technology. The integration of clinical practice, applied research, and multidisciplinary training will lay the foundation for breakthroughs in community healthcare.

Sharing his perspective on this trend, Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Dung – General Director of Vinmec Healthcare System said:

“In the context of global development, healthcare is undergoing a strong shift toward integration with other scientific fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data, aiming to create highly applicable scientific products that effectively support doctors in diagnosis and treatment. Collaboration between healthcare institutions and educational establishments is a strategic step toward building and developing an innovation ecosystem for both parties.”

With the advantage of a nationwide network of hospitals and clinics, Vinmec has the capability to conduct large-scale scientific research — something few healthcare institutions in Vietnam can achieve. In addition, Vinmec’s extensive international partnerships provide an ideal practical environment to bring to life the training and research initiatives of leading experts, lecturers, and scientists from VNU-HCM.

Building on this foundation, Vinmec aims to work alongside VNU-HCM to develop an innovative healthcare ecosystem, focusing not only on training highly skilled physicians but also on nurturing scientists with a mindset for innovation and multidisciplinary collaboration, who are agile in applying and developing technology. This will serve as a springboard for Vietnamese medicine to enter a new phase of development and rapidly integrate with the global advances in healthcare.
