Overview

Master’s degree holder, Dr. Do Xuan Chien, has many years of experience in internal cardiology and interventional cardiology. With a passion for interventional cardiology, Dr. Chien has been trained in interventional techniques since 2010 at leading cardiology centers both in Vietnam and abroad, including the Heart Institute of Bach Mai Hospital, the Cardiology Center of 108 Military Central Hospital, and the Ernst von Bergmann Klinik in the Federal Republic of Germany. After completing these trainings, Dr. Chien was appointed Deputy Head of Cardiology at Phu Tho General Hospital in 2010, leading the implementation of interventional cardiology procedures—making it one of the first provincial hospitals in Northern Vietnam to perform techniques previously limited to central hospitals.

Dr. Chien regularly updates his knowledge and skills in interventional cardiology through short-term training programs at national and international centers, participates in scientific conferences as a speaker, and has been a member of the Vietnam Society of Cardiology, the European Society of Cardiology, and the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions since 2010.

He joined the Vinmec healthcare system in 2016, initially tasked with developing interventional cardiology at Vinmec Ha Long, and was later appointed Head of Internal Medicine in charge of cardiology and interventional cardiology at Vinmec Dong Bac from 2020 to May 2022.

Since May 2022, Dr. Chien has been working at the Cardiology Center of Vinmec Times City as the Director of the Coronary Program. Under his leadership, Vinmec Times City obtained ACC (American College of Cardiology) certification for its coronary program, becoming the first hospital in Southeast Asia and the second in Asia to implement a U.S.-standardized coronary program.

Dr. Chien has directly performed interventional procedures including coronary interventions, lower extremity arterial interventions, and renal artery interventions for thousands of patients. He has recently expanded his expertise to include renal sympathetic denervation for resistant hypertension and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVI).

With an English proficiency of IELTS 6.5, Dr. Chien can communicate effectively with international specialists and provide care for foreign patients.
