PhD, Dr and Distinguished Physician Doan Thi Hong Hanh is a senior expert in Laboratory Medicine and Clinical Microbiology, with over 40 years of experience in medical laboratory operations. She has held several key leadership positions, including Head of the Microbiology Department, Deputy Director of the Hospital, and Director of the Training and Direction Center at Vietnam–Sweden Hospital, Uong Bi. Currently, she serves as Head of the Laboratory Department at Vinmec Ha Long International General Hospital.
With extensive expertise in clinical microbiology, Dr. Hanh specializes in consulting on antibiotic-resistant pathogens, bacterial isolation and identification, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, as well as immunological and microbiological assays used in the diagnosis and monitoring of infectious diseases. She is recognized as a Laboratory Quality Management Expert by the Ministry of Health and an ISO 15189 Assessor accredited by the Bureau of Accreditation (BOA).
Dr. Hanh graduated as a General Practitioner from Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2003, and later completed her Master’s program in Microbiology and Molecular Biology at Kanazawa University, Japan (2010–2012).
She also holds multiple professional certifications in biosafety, laboratory quality assurance, and is skilled in implementing and updating advanced diagnostic technologies.
Since 1985, Dr. Hanh has taken on various professional roles, from laboratory physician and Head of Microbiology Department to hospital leadership and training supervision. Since 2016, she has been the Head of the Laboratory Department at Vinmec Ha Long, leading the department’s continuous development in accordance with international standards.
