MA. Dr. Fred C Abel JR has dedicated more than 40 years in the fields of General Dentistry, Cosmetic Dentistry, Dental Implantology, Oral Surgery and Orthodontics.
He graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Indiana University of School of Dentistry with Honors, completed an Advanced General Practice Residency, receiving the Outstanding Resident award, and received a Master's degree in Cultural Studies with High Honors from Wheaton College Graduate School, USA. He has participated many hundreds of hours in advanced post-doctoral continuing education as a student and as a lecturer. He studied Vietnamese language at the Hanoi Foreign Language University passing the competency exam at level CEFR C2 and is a certified Medical Translator by Hanoi Medical University.
Dr Abel began placing implants in 2003 after intensive training in the USA, at the Mid-West Implant Institute. He has placed thousands of implants using all leading global brands. Currently, he is emphasizing 3D guided implant surgery. The fastest, safest, most precise, least invasive, least painful implant technique. As needed, he develops the implant site with hard and soft tissue regeneration techniques and medications.
Dr Fred is a Vietnam pioneer in clear aligner and functional appliance orthodontic treatment for adults and especially young people. His overall clear aligner and functional appliance treatment record is nearly 2,000 successful cases. He was honored to be appointed as an Invisalign Advisor in 2020 and is listed in the top 100 Invisalign Orthodontists in Southeast Asia. Currently he has treated nearly 1500 children and adults with Invisalign.
Dr Abel placed his first veneer in 1985 as a student doctor, and his first veneer in Vietnam in 2004. Over the last 20+ years, he has provided hundreds of veneers and full mouth reconstruction treatments. He is the first international student of the MINISH Academy (Seoul, Korea, 2024) for Advanced Aesthetic and Reconstructive Dentistry, learning and practicing minimally invasive techniques.
Dr. Fred C Abel, Jr is the Senior Medical Advisor for Vinmec View Premium International Dental System. He practices in Times City and will in the near future practice and advise in other Vinmec locations throughout Vietnam.

1989 – 1998 Humanitarian work in Zimbabwe, India, Cambodia. Serving as a Clinician, Project Director, or Country Level Director.
2003 – 2019: Founder and Head Doctor of Peace Dental, providing high-quality dental care in Cosmetic, Implant, Surgery, and Orthodontics.
2009 – 2019: Co-founder and Director of Technical Services and Training for SDDS a company introducing dental implants, oral and periodontal surgery materials and instruments.
2019 – 2023: CEO, Head Doctor of An International Dental Clinic, Hanoi
2020 – present, Consultant and Speaker, member of Global Faculty, Align Technologies – Invisalign.
