Assoc. Prof., PhD. Le Tran Ngoan is the leading expert in the fields of Public Health, Epidemiology, and Preventive Medicine with over 30 years of teaching and research experience in Vietnam, the United States and Japan. Dr. Ngoan successfully defended his Doctorate in Medicine at the Japan Industrial University in 2003 and was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2009. Currently, Assoc. Prof., PhD Ngoan is a senior lecturer at Hanoi Medical University. In addition, he served as a Professor of Public Health at the International University of Health and Welfare, Japan (2017–2023), and was a visiting lecturer at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (2013–2015).

Assoc. Prof., PhD Lê Trần Ngoan is one of the experts who has made significant contributions to building scientific evidence for cancer prevention and improving community health in Vietnam and internationally. From 2022 to 2025, Assoc. Prof., PhD Ngoan has published more than 30 international scientific papers in prestigious journals such as Nature Medicine, JAMA Oncology, BMJ, Scientific Reports, BMC Cancer, and others. His main research areas include the relationship between nutrition and cancer risk, the impact of smoking, environment and lifestyle on non-communicable diseases and mortality, epidemiology of infectious diseases (HIV/AIDS, COVID-19), and global health.

Engaged in teaching and scientific research in the fields of Medicine, Public Health, Cancer Epidemiology, and the Epidemiology of Non-Communicable Diseases.
Research findings have been published internationally in peer-reviewed scientific journals indexed in ISI-SCIE and SSCI. Areas of expertise include case-control studies and prospective cohort studies investigating the etiology and risk factors associated with disease incidence and mortality in Vietnam, the United States, and Japan.
