Dr. Nguyen Thanh Quan, PhD, is currently the Head of the General Surgery Department at Vinmec Can Tho International Hospital and has many years of experience teaching at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy as well as practicing clinically at Can Tho Central General Hospital in the field of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary surgery. 

He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree in 2007, completed a Master’s program in General Surgery in 2013, and successfully defended his PhD in General Surgery in 2022, focusing on advanced-stage gastric cancer in the Mekong Delta region. 

During his education and career, Dr. Quan has participated in approximately ten scientific research projects in gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary surgery and has published multiple professional reports, contributing to both research and clinical practice development. 

His areas of expertise include diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, bile ducts, and pancreas, laparoscopic surgery for colorectal and gastric cancers, as well as other complex gastrointestinal surgeries. 

In addition, Dr. Quan is a member of the Southern Consensus Group on gastric and colorectal cancer surgery, contributing to the development of professional clinical guidelines. By combining long-term clinical experience, scientific research, and teaching, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Quan has significantly enhanced the quality of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary surgical care in Vietnam.
