Physician Nguyen Trung Thanh, Specialist Level I, brings many years of experience in the field of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy. He earned his medical degree from Thai Nguyen University of Medicine in 2011, then completed his Specialist Level I in Internal Medicine at Hanoi Medical University in 2017, and later pursued advanced training in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) at Cho Rây Hospital in early 2018. Before joining Vinmec, he served in the Endoscopy – Functional Exploration Department of Bai Chay Hospital from 2011 to 2021, then progressed to roles as physician and Deputy Head of the Gastroenterology Department before transitioning to Vinmec International General Hospital in Hai Phong. Dr. Thanh is a member of the Vietnamese Society of Gastroenterology and the Vietnamese Society of GI Endoscopy.

In clinical practice, Dr. Thanh offers endoscopic diagnostic services for early-stage cancers of the esophagus, stomach, and colon; ERCP to remove bile duct or pancreatic stones and place biliary stents; endoscopic stenting in the gastrointestinal tract (esophagus, pylorus, duodenum); foreign body retrieval via endoscopy; hemostatic endoscopic interventions, esophageal variceal ligation, sclerotherapy, and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for early gastrointestinal cancers. Academically, he authors or coauthors studies such as “Effectiveness of common bile duct stone removal by ERCP at Bai Chay Hospital” and “Application of endoscopic ultrasound in diagnosing tumors and gastrointestinal cancers at Bai Chay Hospital.” These works have been published in domestic medical journals and presented at specialty conferences. His contributions in both clinical care and research have earned him respect from colleagues and patients alike.
