Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh, MD, MSc, is Head of the Department of Pathology at Vinmec Smart City International Hospital and a PhD candidate in Medical Science (Pathology) at the Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka Metropolitan University, Japan. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy (2008) and his Master of Science in Pathology from Hanoi Medical University (2016), and completed advanced training in breast pathology at the Department of Pathology, Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, USA (2020).
With more than 15 years of experience in pathology, he served as Head of the Department of Pathology at Quang Nam Central General Hospital (2011–2016) and as a pathologist at Vinmec Times City International Hospital (2017–2026), with special interests in bone and soft-tissue, breast, gastrointestinal and molecular pathology and immunohistochemistry. Since 2026, he has led the establishment and management of the Department of Pathology at Vinmec Smart City.
His research focuses on osteosarcoma biology, single-cell RNA sequencing, the tumor microenvironment and prognostic biomarkers. He has authored or co-authored 14+ peer-reviewed publications and has been a speaker at international meetings.
