Associate Professor, PhD, MD Pham Van Nang is a General Surgery specialist with over 38 years of experience. He graduated from Can Tho University in 1987, completed his residency program and obtained the Specialist Level I degree in Surgery at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City in 1991. In 2009, he successfully defended his PhD thesis in Surgery at Maastricht University, the Netherlands.
Before assuming the role of Director of the Surgery Center – Vinmec Can Tho International Hospital, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Nang spent many years teaching and managing at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, where he held key positions such as Head of the Department of Surgery, Deputy Director, and Head of the Department of Surgery at the university hospital, while also serving as a professional advisor in various medical activities.
At Vinmec, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Nang is dedicated to developing the Surgery Center into a prestigious address for the diagnosis and treatment of surgical conditions, applying advanced techniques in line with international standards. In addition to clinical practice, he emphasizes training young doctors, transferring expertise, and building a modern, human-centered healthcare environment. With numerous scientific research projects, publications in national and international journals, and specialized surgical books, he has made significant contributions to the advancement of surgery in Vietnam.
In recognition of his relentless dedication, creativity, and commitment, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Nang has received several prestigious awards, including the “Creative Labor” Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (2006) and two Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Health for his outstanding achievements in teaching, mentoring, and guiding young scientists to win First Prize at national scientific conferences.
