Distinguished Physician, Specialist Level II, Master of Medicine Pham Viet Hung has over 20 years of experience in Gastrointestinal Surgery, Oncology, and Cardiovascular–Thoracic Surgery. He is a pioneer in Quang Ninh in performing the most complex laparoscopic abdominal surgeries, such as laparoscopic procedures for the esophagus, hepatobiliary system, pancreas, stomach, and colon. He was also the first in Quang Ninh to successfully perform open-heart surgery—with more than 200 cases to date—along with major vascular surgeries and complex thoracic procedures.
Dr. Pham Viet Hung received formal postgraduate training at Hanoi Medical University and other reputable hospitals, and further advanced his expertise through specialized training in France, Taiwan, and China. He is highly regarded by both domestic and international colleagues for his professional competence, language skills, and perseverance in overcoming challenges. His versatility across multiple specialties has led to success in each field he has undertaken.
He is a member of the Vietnam Association of Surgery and Endoscopic Surgery and the Vietnam Association of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, and serves as a Standing Committee Member of the Vietnam Hernia Society. As a leading expert and high-quality medical professional in Quang Ninh, he frequently leads and supports hospitals across the province in handling critical cases and performing complex surgeries. Many critically ill patients have been saved through his direct surgical intervention, with patients from all over the country traveling to Quang Ninh specifically to be operated on by him.
