Meritorious Physician, Master, Specialist Level II – Dr. Tran Hoai An received formal and intensive training at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, graduating as a General Practitioner in 1986, Specialist Level I in Surgery in 1992, Master’s Degree in General Surgery in 2000, and Specialist Level II in Surgery in 2018.
Currently, Meritorious Physician, Master, Specialist Level II – Dr. Tran Hoai An serves as Vice President of the Vietnam Society for Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery and Vice President of the Vietnam Society for Vascular Diseases. He also spent nearly two years in a Cardiovascular Surgery Residency Program at the University of Rennes, France, and practiced open-heart surgery at Civil Hospital and Pontchaillou Hospital, France.
Dr. Tran Hoai An is one of Vietnam’s leading experts in cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, and organ transplantation. He is among the pioneers who established and implemented open-heart surgery, heart transplantation, and kidney transplantation at Hue Central Hospital. With nearly 30 years of clinical and healthcare leadership experience, he has held key positions such as Director of the Cardiovascular Center, Head of the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, and Senior Specialist at Hue Central Hospital – one of the country’s top cardiovascular centers.
He has not only performed and led thousands of complex open-heart surgeries, kidney transplants, and heart transplants, but has also directly participated in thousands of cardiovascular, vascular, and thoracic surgeries at Hue Central Hospital, including personally performing 16 cross-country heart transplants. Dr. Tran Hoai An has been honored with numerous prestigious commendations from the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Health, Hue Central Hospital, and provincial governments across Central and Central Highlands Vietnam for his contributions to organ transplantation and cardiac surgery.
