Uses of Exad
Exad is a gastrointestinal drug whose main ingredient is Nizatidine. The drug is used to treat gastrointestinal diseases such as peptic ulcer or gastroesophageal reflux disease. To know more about Exad drug information, we read the article below.
1. What are the effects of Exad?
The main ingredient Nizatidine in Exad is an H2-histamine antagonist diuretic. Nizatidine is rapidly and completely absorbed in the urine. Reaching high plasma concentrations after 1-2 hours, the oral absorption of nizatidine is about 75-100%.
Because Nizatidine has a formula similar to histamine, H2-histamine antagonists compete with histamine at the H2 receptor in gastric parietal cells, thereby preventing increased secretion of gastric juice. In addition, the drug reduces both the amount and concentration of HCl in the gastric juice. Furthermore, the drug has no effect on H1 receptors but only selectively on H2 receptors in the stomach and Nizatidine has no effect on cytochrome P450 in the liver.
Exad is indicated for the following cases:
Inflammatory disease of the stomach and duodenum is progressing. The patient has gastroesophageal reflux disease. On the other hand, this drug is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity or irritation to any component of Exad & other H2-receptor antagonists.
