Uses of medicine h5000

Vitamins B1, B6 and B12 are essential vitamins for many body processes, these vitamins are also capable of reducing nerve pain. These three vitamins are in the preparation Neovit H5000. So who can use Neovit H5000 and should pay attention to what precautions?

1. Neovit H5000 What drug?

Neovit H5000 is a product of Zhejiang Ruixin Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., packed in each box of 4 vials with 4 ampoules of diluent. Neovit H5000 has main ingredients including vitamins B1, B6 and B12.
Ingredients and content of specific active ingredients of Neovit H5000:
Vitamin B1: 50mg; Vitamin B6 : 250mg; Vitamin B12: 5000 mcg.

2. What is the effect of Neovit H5000?

Neovit H5000 is indicated for use in the following cases:
Neuritis or polyneuritis; Chronic alcoholic neuritis; Drug or toxic optic neuritis; Sciatica pain relief; Pain relief from neurological diseases; Reducing nerve pain in the wrist - arm.

3. Pharmacological characteristics of Neovit H5000

Vitamin B1 or Thiamin in Neovit H5000 has practically no pharmacological effects, even at high doses. Thiamine pyrophosphate, the physiologically active form of thiamine, is a carbohydrate-metabolizing coenzyme that decarboxylates alpha-ketoacids (such as pyruvate) or alpha-ketoglutarate and utilizes pentose in the hexose-monophosphate cycle.
Daily Thiamin requirements are around 0.9-1.5 mg for men and 0.8 to 1.1 mg for healthy women. Thiamine requirements vary with carbohydrate intake and metabolic rate. This has practical implications during parenteral nutrition and in people whose caloric source is mainly dextrose (glucose).
Thiamine deficiency leads to beriberi disease (swelling edema), in mild cases causing nervous system manifestations such as peripheral neuritis, sensory disturbances and increased or decreased sensation. At the same time, muscle tone in people with B1 deficiency will gradually decrease and may lead to paralysis or paralysis of a certain limb. Severe vitamin B1 deficiency causes personality disorders, depression, lack of initiative and poor memory as in Wernicke encephalopathy and, when treated late, can lead to Korsakoff psychosis.
Vitamin B6 in Neovit H5000 medicine exists in 3 forms, including Pyridoxal, Pyridoxine and Pyridoxamine, when taken by the body, it will convert to Pyridoxal phosphate and a part of Pyridoxamine phosphate. These two metabolites of Vitamin B6 act as coenzymes in protein, glucose and lipid metabolism. Vitamin B12 exists in two forms, Cyanocobalamin and Hydroxocobalamin, both of which have the ability to form blood. In the human body, the cobalamins that make up the active coenzymes, Methylcobalamin and 5-Deoxyadenosylcobalamin, are essential for cell replication and growth. Methylcobalamin is the raw material to create Methionine and its derivative is S-Adenosylmethionine from Homocysteine. Inadequate levels of vitamin B12 lead to impaired function of some other essential folic acid in cells, which leads to hematological abnormalities. Active ingredient 5-Deoxyadenosylcobalamin is necessary for isomerization, converting L-methylmalonyl CoA to succinyl CoA. Vitamin B12 is an essential substance for tissues with strong cell growth such as hematopoietic tissues, small intestine, uterus.
Pharmacokinetic characteristics of Neovit H5000:
After intramuscular injection, thiamin or vitamin B1 is rapidly absorbed, then distributed into most tissues and into breast milk. In adults, about 1mg of Thiamine is completely degraded per day in tissues and this is the minimum daily requirement. At this low level of absorption, little or no urine excretion of thiamine is observed. When absorption exceeds the minimum requirement, the thiamine stores in the tissues are first saturated, then the excess is excreted in the urine as intact thiamine. As thiamine absorption is further increased, elimination as unmetabolized thiamine is increased; Pyridoxine is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, except in cases of malabsorption syndromes. After injection or oral administration, pyridoxine is mainly stored in the liver, and partly in the muscles and brain. This substance is eliminated mainly by the kidneys as metabolites. When the intake is higher than the daily requirement, most of the pyridoxine will be eliminated unchanged; Vitamin B12 after intramuscular injection reaches peak plasma concentrations after 1 hour. After absorption, vitamin B12 binds to transcobalamin II and is rapidly cleared from plasma for preferential distribution into the liver parenchyma. The liver is the main storehouse of B12 for other tissues. About 3mcg of Cobalamin is excreted into the bile per day, of which 50 - 60% are cobalamin derivatives that cannot be reabsorbed.

4. Dosage of Neovit H5000

Neovit H5000 product is only used by intramuscular route, not intravenously.
Specific dosage of Neovit H5000:
Adults: 1 - 2 tubes of Neovit H5000 per day; Chronic alcoholics: 2 tubes of Neovit H5000 per day; Do not use Neovit H5000 for a long time to limit the accumulation of vitamin B12 in the body. The vitamins in Neovit H5000 are excreted in the urine when the recommended dose is exceeded. Patients should notify their doctor when they have any serious symptoms when using an overdose of Neovit H5000.

5. Neovit H5000 side effects

When using Neovit H5000, patients may experience some unwanted effects (also known as ADRs), including:
Hypersensitivity, itching, urticaria, erythema or more serious is anaphylaxis; Urine turns red. Neovit H5000 side effects rarely occur, however, if any patient has to discontinue the drug and handle appropriately. Patients should quickly inform the doctor about the unwanted effects encountered when using Neovit H5000.

6. Note when using Neovit H5000

Before using Neovit H5000, patients should carefully read the instructions for use and discuss with the treating doctor.
Some contraindications for Neovit H5000 intramuscular injection:
History of hypersensitivity to Vitamins B1, B6 and B6 or any ingredients in the drug; Patients with allergies (such as bronchial asthma, eczema); Patients with malignant tumors: Vitamin B12 in Neovit H5000 stimulates the growth of tissues with high growth rates, thereby increasing the risk of tumor progression. Caution is advised when using Neovit H5000 in combination with Levodopa, because vitamin B6 reduces the central effects of levodopa but increases peripheral side effects.
Pregnant patients: There are no reports of side effects when using Neovit H5000 in this subject.
Patients in lactation: There have been no reports of adverse effects when using Neovit H5000 in nursing mothers.

7. Neovit H5000 drug interactions

Pyridoxine or vitamin B6 reduces the effect of Levodopa in the treatment of Parkinson's disease, but this interaction does not occur when used concomitantly with the combination of Levodopa-Carbidopa or Levodopa-Benserazide.
Pyridoxine in Neovit H5000 can alleviate depression in women taking oral contraceptives. Conversely, oral contraceptives may increase the need for pyridoxine.
Neovit H5000 has main ingredients including vitamins B1, B6 and B12. The drug is indicated for use in cases of patients with neurological diseases. To ensure the effectiveness of treatment and avoid unwanted side effects, patients need to strictly follow the instructions of the doctor, professional pharmacist.
