What does Toduc do?

Toduc is an antifungal drug with the active ingredient Itraconazole. With this active ingredient, Toduc 100mg is used in the treatment of some fungi with better efficacy than ketoconazole.

Toduc drug belongs to the group of antifungal drugs, with the main ingredient being Itraconazole 100mg. This active ingredient has the effect of inhibiting fungal cells from living and growing. Especially with some fungi, Itraconazole is more antifungal than ketoconazole.
Toduc medicine is made in the form of hard capsules and is indicated for use in the treatment of the following conditions:
Vaginal thrush for a long time, unresponsive to conventional treatments. Ringworm, nail fungus, yeast, do not respond to conventional treatments. Systemic, pulmonary and extrapulmonary. Keratitis Prophylaxis of recurrent fungal infections in HIV/AIDS patients or during neutropenia. Toduc medicine 100mg can treat fungal strains, including: Aspergillus, Blatomyce, Candida, Coceidioides immiris, Epidermophyton floccosum, Histoplasma, Microsporum, Trichophyton, Sporotrichum.

Toduc medicine is taken orally, swallow 1 tablet whole (can be taken with water), do not break or chew. It is best to take the medicine immediately after eating. Dosage of Toduc drug depends on the degree of fungal infection, the usual recommended dose is 1 tablet / day and taken for 12 weeks, or can be used 2 tablets / day and taken for 1 week.
Dosage of Toduc 100mg for each treatment purpose is as follows:
Vaginal and vulvar Candida: 2 toduc 100mg tablets/time, 2 times/day, taken for 1 day; or the therapeutic dose is 2 tablets toduc 100mg/time/day, then take it for 3 days. Oral and oropharyngeal candidiasis: 1 toduc 100mg/time/day, orally for 15 days. Lyme disease: 2 tablets toduc 100mg/time/day, taken for 7 days. Ringworm: 2 tablets of toduc 100mg/time/day, taken for 7 days; or therapeutic dose is 1 toduc 100mg/time/day, taken for 15 days. Mushroom palms, feet: 2 tablets of toduc 100mg times/day, taken for 7 days; or 1 tablet toduc 100mg/time/day, taken for 30 days. Nail fungus: 2 tablets of Toduc 100mg/time, 2 times/day in the morning and evening, drink for 7 days/time and continue to use 2-3 times, 3 weeks apart. Or can also apply the therapeutic dose of 2 tablets of Toduc 100mg/time/day, taking continuously for 3 months. Patients with HIV/AIDS, neutropenia, transplant surgery: 2 toduc 100mg tablets/time/day, orally for 15 days. For visceral fungi, the treatment dose is different for each strain as follows:
Aspergillus mushroom: 2 toduc 100mg tablets/time/day, taken for 2 - 5 months. Dosage can be increased to 2 capsules of 100mg/time, 2 times/day if the fungus spreads. Candida: 1-2 tablets of toduc 100mg/time/day, taken for 3 weeks - 7 months. Epidural Cryptococcus: 2 capsules of 100mg/time/day, taken for 2 months - 1 year. Cryptococcus fungi causing meningitis: 2 capsules of 100mg/time/day, this is also the maintenance dose. Histoplasma: 2 capsules of toduc 100mg/1 - 2 times/day, the average treatment time can be up to 8 months. Mushroom Sporothrix schenckii: 1 tablet toduc 100mg/time/day, taken for 3 months. Mushroom Paracoccidioides brasiliensis: 1 tablet toduc 100mg/time/day, taken for 6 months. Chromomycosis: 1-2 tablets of Toduc 100mg/time/day, taken for 6 months. Blastomyces dermatitidis: 1 toduc 100mg/time/day; or 2 toduc 100mg/time, 2 times/day and take for 6 months. Toduc drug overdose may require supportive treatment of symptoms such as ileus, activated charcoal in case of need because currently there is no specific antidote for Itraconazole.

Toduc drugs rarely cause unwanted side effects such as: abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, indigestion, constipation; hepatotoxicity, acute liver failure (possibly fatal); menstrual disorders; congestive heart failure; pulmonary edema; hypokalemia; dizziness, peripheral neuropathy; allergy, edema, urticaria, pruritus, rash, alopecia, Stevens-Johnson syndrome.

Toduc is an antibiotic, so the use of the drug must follow the doctor's prescription, do not arbitrarily buy or use the drug without any instructions from the doctor. If taking medication, it must be taken continuously, not interrupted. Toduc drug is not used for people with hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the drug. Women who are treated with Toduc need to take birth control measures. Toduc should be used in pregnant women only in case of severe infection and there is no risk of harm to the fetus. People with a history of liver disease, drug toxicity should be cautious when using. If treatment with Toduc for a long time, it is necessary to check the liver function. Toduc should not be used concurrently with drugs metabolised by the cytochrome P450 3A enzyme system, astemisol, cisapride, terfenadine, diazepam, midazolam, triazolam. If used with calcium blockers, the dose should be reduced to avoid tinnitus and edema. Temporarily discontinue use of cholesterol-lowering drugs when treating systemic fungal infections with toduc. Monitor blood glucose closely while taking diabetes medications and treating fungal infections with Toduc. The effectiveness of toduc decreases when taken with antacids, H2 antagonists, omeprazole, sucralfate. Enzyme inducers also alter blood levels of itraconazole, so an alternative drug should be considered if necessary. Toduc 100mg is effective against some fungi that cause infections in the vagina, skin, nail fungus, in the lungs as well as the whole body. In addition, the drug is also used in the prophylaxis of fungal infections in patients with AIDS.
