Serratiopeptidase drug use

Serratiopeptidase (or Serrapeptase) is an extracellular metallo endopeptidase composed of 470 amino acids, with a molecular weight of about 50,000 kilodaltons. The active site of the enzyme, which contains a zinc atom, hydrolyzes the peptide bonds in it of polypeptides. Maximum proteolytic activity occurs at 40 °C (104 °F) and at pH approximately 8 (range, 6 to 10). Maintaining the temperature at 55 °C (131 °F) for 15 minutes will do enzyme inactivation. Serratiopeptidase is produced by fermentation technology, in which the enzyme is purified from bacterial culture.
Mechanism of action of Serratiopeptidase 10mg:
Serratiopeptidase is a proteolytic enzyme derived from Serratia spp. Effective in reducing edema and inflammation associated with trauma, chronic venous insufficiency or oral infections. Serratiopeptidase increases the absorption of other drugs, especially antibiotics, by means of an enzymatic anti-inflammatory effect. Reduce swelling after trauma or surgery, inhibit swelling caused by inflammation. Promotes penetration of chemotherapeutic agents and antibiotics into tissues. Promote purulent expectoration and expectoration.

The usual adult dose of Serratiopeptidase 10mg is 1 tablet 3 times/day (approximately 15 to 60 mg/day) 2 hours after meals. Immediately stop using Serratiopeptidase 10mg if allergic or red skin rash occurs. Digestive disorders: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, upset stomach, anorexia. Blood: hemorrhage (rare).

Although there are insufficient clinical data to say whether Serratiopeptidase is safe to use during pregnancy or breast-feeding. However, to avoid affecting the health of pregnant women and fetuses, patients should avoid using Serratiopeptidase drugs. Serratiopeptidase can interfere with blood clotting, so some researchers suggest that it may make bleeding disorders worse. If you have a bleeding disorder, contact your doctor before using Serratiopeptidase. Serratiopeptidase 10mg may increase bleeding during and after surgery. Stop using Serratiopeptidase 10mg at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery.
