2. Efferalgan Dosage
- Adults: Oral administration: 325 mg to 650 mg every 4 to 6 hours as needed, or 1 g every 6 hours as needed; maximum dose: 4 g/day.
- Children: Dosage based on weight: 10 to 15 mg/kg per dose every 4 to 6 hours as needed, not exceeding 5 doses in 24 hours. Maximum daily dose: 75 mg/kg/day, not exceeding 4 g/day.
3. Precautions When Using Efferalgan
- G6PD deficiency: Use with caution in patients known to have G6PD deficiency.
- Liver impairment: Use with caution in patients with liver impairment or active liver disease. Intravenous formulations are contraindicated in patients with severe liver impairment or severe liver disease.
- Hypovolemia: Use intravenous formulations with caution in patients with severe hypovolemia (e.g., due to dehydration or blood loss).
- Patients should contact their doctor if symptoms worsen, if new symptoms develop, if there is redness or swelling in the painful area, or if fever persists for more than 3 days or pain lasts longer than expected. When treating a sore throat in children, if the sore throat is severe, lasts more than 2 days, or is accompanied by fever, rash, headache, nausea, or vomiting, parents should contact a doctor immediately to identify the underlying cause.
