Continuing Medical Education Training Course “Oxygen Therapy”

Based on the study of clinical practice guidelines, the oxygen therapy procedures currently applied at Vinmec, and references from several professional documents from hospitals and universities both domestically and internationally, Vinmec International General Hospital has developed the Continuing Medical Education (CME) training course “Oxygen Therapy.”
The program aims not only to meet the training needs within the Vinmec Healthcare System but also to contribute to continuous training activities according to international standards for medical schools and healthcare facilities nationwide.
In order to enhance nurses’ competency in managing and practicing oxygen therapy safely and effectively, the Center for Continuing Medical Education is implementing this CME program in the form of a short-term training course under the topic “Oxygen Therapy,” with key content as follows:
- Training Objectives
Upon completion of this program, learners will consolidate and standardize their competencies (knowledge, skills, and attitudes) in oxygen therapy practice for nurses/midwives/technicians.
a. Knowledge Objectives
- Present the scientific basis related to oxygen therapy.
- Present the indications and contraindications of oxygen administration.
- Present the characteristics of medical supplies and equipment suitable for oxygen therapy.
- Explain the steps in the oxygen therapy procedure.
- Analyze possible complications and adverse events as well as management strategies during and after oxygen therapy.
b. Skill Objectives
- Identify the appropriate oxygen flow and oxygenation target for patients.
- Select suitable medical supplies and equipment for oxygen therapy tailored to each patient.
- Perform oxygen therapy techniques safely and effectively on models/simulated patients and real patients according to Vinmec Hospital standards.
c. Attitude Objectives
Demonstrate urgency and accuracy in performing oxygen therapy to ensure treatment effectiveness and patient safety.
- Duration
- Total course hours: 30 hours (15 hours theory, 15 hours practice).
- Timeframe: From 18/09/2025 to 30/10/2025.
- Opening ceremony: 13:00 on 18/09/2025.
- Lecturers: 10 (10 main lecturers and 01 secretary).
- Participants: 31 learners.
- Target audience: Nurses/Midwives.
- Training format: On-site.
- Venue: Vinmec Central Park International General Hospital.
- CME certification: 30 credits.
- Benefits: Learners who successfully complete the program according to standards will be awarded a CME certificate with 30 credits upon completion.
