Scientific Seminar Program “Knowledge Update and Experience Sharing on Skin Injury Prevention”

Based on the updated clinical practice guidelines, the skin injury prevention protocols currently applied at Vinmec, and experiences referenced from hospitals and universities both domestically and internationally, Vinmec Central Park International General Hospital is organizing the Scientific Seminar Program: “Knowledge Update and Experience Sharing on Skin Injury Prevention”, on September 11, 2025.

The program aims not only to meet the training needs within the Vinmec Healthcare System but also to contribute to improving the quality of patient care, ensuring safety, and complying with international standards.

  1. Program Objectives

Upon completion of this program, learners will consolidate and standardize their competencies (knowledge, skills, and attitudes) in practicing skin injury prevention for nurses/midwives/technicians.

a. Knowledge Objectives

  • Present the concept, pathogenesis, and risk factors of Medical Adhesive-Related Skin Injury (MARSI) and Incontinence-Associated Dermatitis (IAD).
  • Present international recommendations and Vinmec protocols on the prevention and care of MARSI and IAD.
  • Analyze consequences and complications when skin injuries are not timely detected and managed.

b. Skill Objectives

  • Identify and classify the severity of skin injuries caused by MARSI and IAD.
  • Implement preventive measures (selecting appropriate medical adhesives, correct application–removal techniques, skin care for patients with incontinence, etc.).
  • Apply skin injury prevention and care protocols for MARSI and IAD in clinical practice at Vinmec.

c. Attitude Objectives

  • Demonstrate carefulness, accuracy, and proactiveness in preventing MARSI and IAD.
  • Prioritize patient safety and quality of care throughout clinical practice.

  4. Participants: 40 learners.
  5. Target audience: Nurses/Midwives/Medical Technicians.
  6. Training format: Both online and on-site.

  8. CNE certification: 1.5 credits.
  9. Benefits: Learners who successfully complete the program according to standards will be awarded a CME certificate upon completion.
