Greetings. Without medical treatment, some wart types may disappear on their own. But it can take a few months or even years. Usually benign, genital warts on the base of the tongue (Condyloma acuminatum of the tongue base) might cause discomfort for the person who has them in daily activities. They may cause discomfort or make speaking or eating challenging. Cryotherapy is one method of wart removal. Cold liquid nitrogen is frequently used in this technique to freeze the abnormal tissue. A further choice is electrosurgery. By cutting through the wart with a powerful electric current, the abnormal cells or tissue are extracted. Both treatments are effective for different types of warts that develop on the tongue.
