2. Side effects of Clindoxyl

Patients using Clindoxyl may experience the following side effects:

Common:

  • Dry skin.

Less common:

  • Itching, redness, skin rash, swelling or pain at the application site.
  • Red skin.
  • Sunburn.
  • Abnormally warm skin.

Frequency unknown:

  • Chest tightness.
  • Cough.
  • Difficulty swallowing.
  • Dizziness.
  • Fast heartbeat.
  • Itching, skin rash.
  • Swelling of the eyelids, around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue.
  • Difficulty breathing.
  • Unusual fatigue or weakness.

3. Dosage and usage of Clindoxyl

Dosage:

  • For treating acne: Adults and children aged 12 years and older should apply the medication once or twice a day. For children under 12 years old, the use and dosage should be determined by a doctor.
  • It is important to use this medication as directed. Do not use the medication more frequently, in larger amounts, or for longer periods than prescribed by your doctor, as this may cause skin irritation. Patients may notice the maximum effect of the medication after a few weeks to a few months. Applying more medication will not result in faster effectiveness.

Usage:

Clindoxyl is for external use only. Avoid getting the medication in the eyes, nose, mouth, or vagina. Do not apply the medication to areas of skin with cuts or abrasions. If the medication gets in these areas, rinse immediately. Steps for using the medication:

  • Wash your hands with soap and water before and after applying the medication.
  • Before using the medication, wash the affected area with warm water and mild soap. Rinse and pat dry.
  • Apply a small amount of Clindoxyl to each affected area (e.g., forehead, chin, cheeks, chest, shoulders) and gently rub it in.
  • Do not apply the medication to hair or any colored fabrics as it may cause bleaching.

4. Some precautions when using Clindoxyl

  • Patients should inform their doctor if they have had any unusual reactions to Clindoxyl or any other medications, including allergies to foods, dyes, preservatives. For over-the-counter products, read the labels or package ingredients carefully.
  • The presence of certain medical conditions may affect the use of Clindoxyl. Inform your doctor if you have any of the following medical conditions: Stomach or intestinal problems (e.g., antibiotic-associated colitis, pseudomembranous colitis, enteritis, ulcerative colitis).
  • Clindoxyl can make the skin more sensitive to sunlight. Use sunscreen when outdoors. Avoid sunlight and wear protective clothing, such as a hat.
  • If severe swelling, difficulty breathing, or any allergic reactions to Clindoxyl occur, seek medical attention immediately.
  • Do not use any other medications on the treated skin area without consulting a doctor.
  • Avoid using any skincare products that may dry or irritate the skin.
  • Children: The safety and effectiveness for children under 12 years old have not been established.
  • Breastfeeding women: Benzoyl Peroxide: Studies in women indicate that Benzoyl Peroxide may pose minimal risk to infants when used during breastfeeding. Clindamycin: There are no adequate studies to determine the risk to infants when using Clindamycin during breastfeeding. Consider the benefits against potential risks before using Clindoxyl while breastfeeding.
  • Store Clindoxyl in a tightly closed container at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct light. Keep out of reach of children.

5. Drug interactions

Using Clindoxyl concurrently with certain medications may cause interactions. In such cases, your doctor may adjust the dosage or change the medication if necessary.
