Febuxostat works by reducing uric acid levels in the body.

4. How to use Feburic 80mg?
Patients should use the drug as directed by their doctor and check the label for accurate dosing instructions. In particular, patients should not arbitrarily use the drug at lower or higher doses or for longer than the prescribed time.
Feburic 80mg should be taken orally with or without food, usually once a day or as directed by your doctor. In particular, gout patients should take the drug at the same time each day to avoid forgetting doses.
Gout patients may experience more acute attacks within a few months of starting Feburic 80mg, even though the body is still excreting uric acid. Febuxostat is not a painkiller, so even when using the drug, patients may still have the usual pain symptoms. Your doctor may prescribe additional medications (such as colchicine, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen, naproxen or indomethacin) to prevent or treat gout for the first few months of using Feburic 80mg. Patients should use the prescribed gout medications as directed by their doctor for the best treatment results.
