TAF (Tenofovir Alafenamide Fumarate) has very little effect on the kidneys. As recommended, the drug is still used and no dose adjustment is required in patients without renal impairment and in patients with renal impairment but with a glomerular filtration rate CrCl >= 15 ml/min. For those reasons, your doctor advises you not to take kidney supplements for the sake of taking TAF.
