1. What is Robmedril?

Absorption: Methyprednisolone is hydrolyzed to the active form by serum cholinesterase enzymes. Metabolism: Methyprednisolone is metabolised in the liver. The major metabolites are 20-betahydromethylprednisolone and 20-beta-hydroxy-6-alpha-methyprednisolone. Elimination: Methyprednisolone is eliminated mainly in the urine as glucuronide, sulfate and unconjugated compounds.

2. Dosage and usage


Rheumatoid arthritis: The starting dose is 4-6mg robmedril/day. Use high doses from 16-32mg/day. Then adjust the dose gradually in acute cases. Acute asthma attack: Use for the first 5 days at a dose of 32-48mg/day, then a lower dose can be used for 7 days and gradually tapered off. Severe rheumatic diseases: Initially 0.5mg/kg/day divided into small doses. Then take a single dose daily and gradually reduce until the minimum effective dose. Chronic ulcerative colitis: Use at a dose of 8-24mg/day in severe exacerbations. Nephrotic syndrome: Use continuously for 6 weeks at a dose of 0.8-1.6mg/kg/day and gradually reduce the dose in the next 6-8 weeks. If prescribed by a doctor to take the drug once a day, it should be taken in the morning (at 8 o'clock) to promote the most effective effect of the drug. How to use: Patients should take Robmedril whole tablet with plenty of water, do not chew the tablet, drink it after eating.
Handling when overdose:
Some common manifestations when overdose or long-term use of Robmedril such as Cushing's syndrome, muscle weakness, osteoporosis. In case of increased adrenal cortex and adrenal suppression due to long-term use of high doses, careful consideration should be given to stopping or stopping Robmedril altogether.

3. Drug interactions


Do not use Robmedril in combination with Cyclosporin drugs. Methyprednisolone can cause hyperglycaemia, so a higher dose of insulin must be adjusted for diabetics. Phenobarbital, Phenytoin, Rifampin, and hypokalaemic diuretics when used concurrently with Robmedril may decrease their effectiveness.

4. Robmedril side effects


In the case of long-term and high-dose treatment, Robmedrill can cause some side effects for patients such as: Nausea, peptic ulcer, irritability, headache, hirsutism, increased blood pressure, muscle weakness and osteoporosis.

5. Precautions while taking Robmedril


Treatment with high doses of Robmedrill may affect the effectiveness of vaccination. Acute adrenal insufficiency may occur when the patient stops taking the drug suddenly after long-term treatment or is under stress. Systemic Robmedrill should be used with caution in the elderly at the lowest possible dose and for the shortest possible duration. In case of long-term high-dose treatment, the drug should not be stopped suddenly, but the dose must be gradually reduced for the patient. If symptoms reappear and worsen when the dose is reduced, notify your doctor immediately.

6. Storing Robmedril
