Continuing Medical Education (CME) Training Course “Health Education Counseling Skills”

_____________________

Caring for people’s health is a noble mission of medical staff. Among them, nurses/midwives/technicians (N/M/T) play an important role as the ones who implement physicians’ orders, directly care for, treat, and provide health counseling to patients. At present, in Vietnam, patient care in hospitals is carried out according to Circular 31/2021 of the Ministry of Health, under which care services performed by N/M/T include: planning and providing physical, mental, nutritional care, monitoring, administering medication, rehabilitation, and health education for patients. Therefore, in order to improve the quality of medical services, it is very important to enhance professional competence, with a focus on improving knowledge and skills in health education counseling.

Based on the guidelines of the Central Health Education and Communication Center (MOH – 2019) and the training program of the Institute for Preventive Medicine and Public Health – Hanoi Medical University, Vinmec International General Hospital has developed the training course “Health Education Counseling Skills.” The program is designed to suit the disease patterns at Vinmec, meet the training needs within the Vinmec Health System, and expand to other healthcare facilities nationwide.
