I had an appendectomy at 1:00 AM on March 16th using the laparoscopic method at the hospital. However, until today (April 2nd), I still frequently experience bloating. Eight days after the surgery, I came back for a check-up and was instructed to get an X-ray and ultrasound of the abdomen, but the results showed no abnormalities, and my stitches were removed. However, I constantly feel that my abdomen is bloated, especially when sitting, and the upper abdomen is tense. Although I lost 2kg after the surgery (I weighed 58kg before the surgery, now 56kg, and my height is 1.58m), I don't have a fever or loss of appetite. Bloating after an appendectomy or abdominal surgery is due to the digestive system not being fully stabilized. You should come for a follow-up to assess the abdominal condition and rule out other potential issues. After surgery, it’s important to begin exercising the abdominal muscles by lying on the bed, keeping your legs straight, and lifting them off the bed at the same time. Practice this 60 times throughout the day. Also, avoid overeating at each meal, and steer clear of foods that take a long time to digest, are heavy on the stomach, or high in sugar.
