Question
Hello doctor. I have been sneezing a lot during the day, about 4 to 5 times a day. Each time I sneeze, it's usually more than 10 sneezes, and there is a particularly foul and fishy smell. I have visited an ENT specialist and have taken medicine, but it hasn't improved. So, doctor, could you please tell me what might be causing frequent sneezing with a foul and fishy smell that doesn't go away after taking medication? I would appreciate your advice. Thank you.

Answer
Hello there. Sneezing with a foul and fishy smell is likely related to a sinus infection. Fungal sinusitis is one of the most common causes of nasal discharge with a foul and fishy odor. However, this is not the final diagnosis. Therefore, you should visit an ENT clinic at a reputable healthcare facility or one of the hospitals in the Vinmec Healthcare System nationwide to get checked and accurately diagnose the cause of your frequent sneezing with a foul and fishy smell that doesn't go away after taking medication.
Thank you for trusting us and sending your question to Vinmec.
