1. Indications for Nephrosteril

  • Do not use more or less than the prescribed dose, and do not stop the medication abruptly without the doctor's instructions.

Dosage: 

  • The usual dose is 0.5g amino acid/kg/day = 500ml/day for a 70kg person with acute and chronic renal failure not treated with hemodialysis.
  • The dosage is 1g amino acid/kg/day = 1000ml/day for a 70kg person with acute and chronic renal failure but being treated with hemodialysis, hemofiltration, peritoneal dialysis.
  • Maximum dose: 1.5g amino acid/kg body weight/day = 1500ml/day for a 70kg person.

Management of overdose or missed dose of Nephrosteril:

  • Administering Nephrosteril too rapidly can result in incompatibility reactions, leading to nausea, chills, and shivering. If this occurs, seek immediate medical attention by contacting the emergency services (115) or going to the nearest hospital.
  • If a dose of Nephrosteril is missed, administer it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and proceed with the regular dosing schedule.

3. Contraindications for Nephrosteril

Nephrosteril is contraindicated in the following cases:

  • Individuals with unstable cardiovascular conditions, including life-threatening risks such as shock, or tissue hypoxia;
  • Patients with impaired amino acid metabolism;
  • Children younger than 2 years old.

4. Nephrosteril drug interactions

Nephrosteril may interact with two or more drug medications you are taking, potentially increasing the risk of side effects.
