On April 18, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vingroup announced plans to begin construction of Vinmec Can Gio International General Hospital in August 2025. The hospital will be located within the Vinhomes Green Paradise urban area and will be built to the standards of Cleveland Clinic – one of the world’s leading academic medical systems.

Through Vinmec Can Gio, people in Vietnam will gain access to the highest-quality clinical care from Cleveland Clinic. In addition, patients will have the option to be referred internationally to leading hospitals within the Cleveland Clinic Connected network.
Cleveland Clinic is a nonprofit academic medical system that has consistently ranked among the top hospital systems in the United States. It has received numerous accolades, including being named the “Best Hospital for Cardiology 2024–2025” in several countries by U.S. News & World Report, and holding the title of “World’s Best Hospital 2025” by Newsweek for seven consecutive years.
In Vietnam, Vinmec is the only healthcare provider that meets all of Cleveland Clinic Connected’s rigorous standards for medical quality. Among its initiatives, the Vinmec Can Gio project—located within the Vinhomes Green Paradise coastal township, Long Hoa Commune, Can Thanh Town, Can Gio District, Ho Chi Minh City—is the first Vinmec facility to be planned and built from the ground up in collaboration with Cleveland Clinic, adhering to the "gold standards" of global healthcare organizations.
The hospital will be equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, fully integrated specialties, clinical centers, and world-class medical technology. Cleveland Clinic will serve as a strategic advisor to Vinmec, providing comprehensive support in areas such as clinical development, hospital design, personnel training, and expert recruitment.
Specifically, in terms of training, Vinmec Can Gio’s core team of doctors and healthcare professionals will undergo direct training at Cleveland Clinic in the U.S. through three specialized programs tailored to their respective roles.

Doctors at Vinmec Can Gio will participate in an intensive post-residency training program, working directly in a modern clinical environment and collaborating with international experts to gain a global medical perspective.
Nurses, young doctors, and quality management staff will undergo personalized training programs aimed at developing solid professional capabilities. Notably, the hospital's management team will learn from a streamlined, modern, patient-centered operating model through hands-on observation and in-depth exchanges in the U.S.
Professionally, under the cooperation agreement, Cleveland Clinic will send top specialists to consult—either in person or remotely—on complex cases with Vinmec doctors. This enables both domestic and international patients to access world-class clinical care based on Cleveland Clinic’s standards right in Ho Chi Minh City. For cases requiring advanced treatment, Vinmec Can Gio will support referrals to leading hospitals within the Cleveland Clinic network in the United States.
The strategic collaboration, beginning from the inception of the hospital, ensures that Vinmec Can Gio will develop into a comprehensive international hospital, patient-centered, and aligned with the highest global standards—all within Vietnam.
Dr. Tommaso Falcone, Executive Vice President of Cleveland Clinic and President of the International and Emerging Markets Division, shared: “We are proud to partner with Vinmec from the very beginning of the project—from strategic advisory, hospital design, recruitment, and training to operational support. Through the ‘Cleveland Clinic Connected’ model, we believe Vinmec Can Gio will bring world-class healthcare services to the Vietnamese people and emerge as a prominent medical destination in the region.”

Speaking about the project, Ms. Le Thuy Anh, CEO of Vinmec Healthcare System, shared:
“Vinmec Cần Giờ is a strategic project that marks a new milestone in our journey to build a world-class healthcare system right here in Vietnam. With the comprehensive support of Cleveland Clinic – one of the world’s leading healthcare systems – we aim not only to enhance the quality of healthcare for the Vietnamese people but also to take a significant step toward international expansion, positioning Vinmec as a trusted medical destination in the region.”
The project is also a key component in improving the quality of life for residents, increasing real estate value, and strengthening confidence in the growth potential of Vinhomes Green Paradise – a future leading center for entertainment, tourism, accommodation, and resort living in the Asia-Pacific region.
