Hanoi, April 1, 2025 – The Vinmec Healthcare System and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) officially signed a strategic partnership agreement to focus on the healthcare of national team athletes. The collaboration also aims to expand training and research efforts to comprehensively improve the quality of sports medicine in Vietnam. This partnership not only enhances medical care for athletes but also promotes the sustainable development of the country’s sports medicine sector.
The signing ceremony was attended by representatives from the leadership of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the Vinmec Healthcare System, as well as many national team players.
Under the agreement, Vinmec will assign experienced medical experts to directly participate in and accompany the national team players throughout their training and competition periods at major tournaments, including AFF (ASEAN Football Championship), AFC (Asian Cup), and FIFA (International Federation of Association Football) events. In addition, Vietnam’s leading academic healthcare system will collaborate and provide maximum support in facilitating access for athletes to the most advanced treatment methods, delivered by top global medical experts and institutions.
Leveraging its role in managing the Vietnam national football team, VFF will create favorable conditions for Vinmec’s medical professionals to be involved in healthcare during training camps and competitions. At the same time, VFF will cooperate with Vinmec on scientific research initiatives, testing, and applying advanced methods and technologies in the field of sports medicine. This strategic collaboration aims to help Vinmec enhance its expertise and progress toward achieving recognition as a FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence.
Immediately following the signing, Vinmec and VFF will jointly organize a scientific seminar and intensive training program for sports medicine professionals to update the latest advancements in diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports injuries. Additionally, both parties will launch campaigns to raise public awareness and promote knowledge of sports healthcare throughout Vietnam.
Speaking about the partnership between the two sides, Mr. Nguyen Van Phu, General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), stated: "We deeply appreciate the dedicated and effective support from Vinmec over the years. Previously, Vinmec and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) signed a three-year cooperation agreement (2022–2024), under which Vinmec sponsored medical check-ups, organized professional consultations, and provided injury treatment for members of the national football teams.

In May 2024, Vinmec’s Center for Orthopedic Trauma and Sports Medicine was officially recognized as a “Center of Excellence in Sports Medicine” by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). It became one of four internationally standardized Centers of Excellence at Vinmec, alongside Cardiology, Oncology, and Clinical Immunology & Allergies. The center meets the highest standards in infrastructure, clinical expertise, sports science support, emergency response capacity, and research.
