Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Dung has just been appointed as the General Director of Vinmec International General Hospital.
Vingroup has officially announced changes in the senior leadership of Vinmec International General Hospital JSC. Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang is no longer the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vinmec.
To fill this position, Vinmec has promoted CEO Le Thuy Anh to become the new Chairwoman of the Board.
At the same time, Vinmec has appointed Professor, Doctor Tran Trung Dung as the new General Director.
Prof. Tran Trung Dung was awarded the title of Professor in 2020 and Associate Professor in 2015. He has participated in numerous advanced medical training programs in developed countries around the world.
Over more than 20 years in the medical field, Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Dung has successfully performed over 1,000 hip replacement surgeries, more than 500 knee replacements, nearly 10,000 knee arthroscopies, over 500 shoulder arthroscopies, and nearly 100 shoulder, elbow, and small joint replacements. He has also conducted over 1,000 endoscopic and minimally invasive surgeries to treat carpal tunnel syndrome, and more than 400 limb-sparing surgeries for bone and soft tissue cancers using various reconstruction techniques—helping thousands of patients restore mobility and improve their athletic performance.
As part of the "golden generation" that laid the foundation for orthopedic surgery in Vietnam, he has made dozens of contributions to scientific research, with his work being highly regarded by both domestic and international medical communities. He has also co-authored and published over 10 medical books. Prof. Dung is a member of several prestigious organizations, including:

Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Dung was also the lead surgeon who operated on striker Xuan Son after the player sustained an injury during the second leg final of the 2024 ASEAN Cup between Vietnam and Thailand.
