1. General situation of Dengue hemorrhagic fever
Dengue fever (DHF) is a mosquito-borne disease that is common in the world as well as in Vietnam. In Vietnam, DHF can occur in most provinces and cities, however, the number of DHF cases is mainly in the South and Central Highlands.

Increased liver enzymes are a common condition in patients with dengue fever. About 65% of people infected with DHF have increased liver enzymes.
Increased liver enzymes can range from mild to severe and may be related to the amount of dengue virus in the body causing:
- Direct damage to liver cells
- Liver cell necrosis
- Increased levels of inflammatory factors such as Interleukin 2 released into the liver
- Immune response in the body
3. Treatment of increased liver enzymes
When liver enzymes are increased, patients can use oral or intravenous liver support drugs, depending on the patient's condition.
