More than 400 clients receive free screening consultation during Vinmec Central Park’s “Cancer Prevention Week”

Currently, the incidence of cancer is increasing. Cancer can result from exposure to chemicals, viruses, radioactive substances, or from unhealthy daily habits such as smoking, skipping breakfast, staying up late, lack of physical activity, and unsafe sexual practices.

In Vietnam, compared to 2018, the ranking for new cancer cases has risen by nine positions, now standing at 90 out of 185 countries. The ranking for cancer-related deaths has increased by six positions, now at 50 out of 185 countries. It is estimated that there have been 122,690 cancer-related deaths and 182,563 new cancer cases in the country.

Globally, there are approximately 20 million new cancer cases and more than 10 million deaths from this “malignant” disease each year, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). These figures are alarming, highlighting the importance of cancer screening for timely detection and treatment. Understanding this, Vinmec Central Park launched Cancer Prevention Week with the goal of raising awareness and knowledge about cancer among participants.

After one week, Vinmec Central Park doctors provided free examinations and screening consultations to over 400 clients. Some clients underwent advanced tests to detect even the smallest abnormal signs.
