This program is available for Vietnamese patients with serious illnesses, including cardiovascular disease, oncology, and critical care, offering up to 70% coverage of treatment costs.
A key feature of this treatment support program is that it applies to all eligible patients nationwide (excluding those with private insurance) without additional priority conditions such as poverty, near-poverty status, difficult circumstances, or contributions to the revolution.
The supported specialties include Cardiology (interventional cardiology, cardiac surgery), Oncology (chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery), and Critical Care (stroke, dialysis, thrombolysis). These are core specialties where Vinmec has established strong clinical expertise. Vinmec is one of the few hospitals in Vietnam capable of performing complex cardiovascular procedures, including the transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) – one of the most advanced heart interventions globally.
In oncology, Vinmec provides comprehensive, specialized, and personalized cancer care following US and European standards. It is also the first hospital in Vietnam to implement autologous immune enhancement therapy to support cancer treatment. Moreover, Vinmec excels in critical care with a team of highly trained doctors able to coordinate effectively with all specialties to handle emergencies efficiently.
The treatment support program opens opportunities for patients to access high-quality healthcare at optimal costs at Vinmec hospitals in Hanoi, Ha Long, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, and Ho Chi Minh City until December 31, 2018. All funding comes from a 1,500 billion VND humanitarian program dedicated to healthcare by Vingroup.
“Patients with cardiovascular disease, cancer, and critical conditions are increasing rapidly, and most require long-term, costly treatments. Supporting treatment costs for these three specialties will give patients the opportunity to receive treatment for serious illnesses and the best possible care,” shared Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Phu – Deputy CEO of Vinmec Healthcare System.
Previously, in September 2016, the Thien Tam Fund implemented a charity surgery program for the poor, near-poor, disadvantaged individuals, and people with contributions to the revolution, covering up to 100% of costs. By continuing to support up to 70% of treatment costs for cardiology, oncology, and critical care without priority conditions, Vingroup provides more Vietnamese people with access to high-quality healthcare at affordable costs, reflecting the spirit of solidarity of the Thien Tam Fund and the non-profit commitment of Vinmec Healthcare System.
Vinmec, a non-profit healthcare system established by Vingroup in 2012, aimed to reach 10 hospitals nationwide by 2020.
