Hemoral tablets are used to support venous function disorders. To use the medication safely and effectively, it is important to understand its uses and dosage. Let’s explore this in detail below.

1. Uses of Hemoral tablet

The main components of Hemoral 450mg are Diosmin 450mg, Hesperidin 50mg, and excipients (lactose, corn starch, sodium starch glycolate, magnesium stearate, anhydrous silica gel, microcrystalline cellulose). The medication is formulated as film-coated tablets.
Hemoral tablets are used to support venous function and protect blood vessels. Its effects on blood vessels have been studied as follows:  

  • On veins: Hemoral reduces venous distensibility and venous stasis. Studies using circulatory monitoring devices show that the medication accelerates venous blood flow.  
  • On microcirculation: Hemoral normalizes capillary permeability and enhances capillary resistance. In patients with fragile capillaries, the medication strengthens capillary resistance, as measured by vascular resistance testing.  

2. Indications and Contraindications of Hemoral

2.1. Indications

Hemoral is indicated for the following conditions:  

  • Treatment of symptoms related to venous and lymphatic insufficiency, such as morning leg heaviness and leg pain;  
  • Acute hemorrhoids.  

2.2. Contraindications

The combination of diosmin and hesperidin is contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to any component of the medication, including active ingredients or excipients.  

3. Dosage and Administration of Hemoral  

Administration: The medication is taken orally with water during lunch or dinner.  

Dosage:  

  • Standard dosage: 2 tablets per day, divided into two doses;  
  • Acute hemorrhoids: 6 tablets per day for the first 4 days, followed by 4 tablets per day for the next 3 days.  

Overdose: No cases of overdose have been reported. However, if an overdose is suspected, seek medical attention immediately, and supportive treatment should be administered.  

Missed dose: Take the missed dose as soon as remembered. If it is close to the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.  

4. Side effects of Hemoral

The medication is generally well-tolerated, with few side effects. Rarely, some cases of gastrointestinal disturbances and autonomic nervous system disorders have been reported, but these are usually mild and do not require discontinuation of treatment.  

However, to ensure safety, inform your doctor of any adverse effects experienced while using the medication.  

5. Precautions When Using Hemoral

  • For acute hemorrhoids: The use of this medication does not replace specific treatments for other anal conditions such as anal fissures or fistulas. For acute hemorrhoids, treatment with this medication is short-term. If symptoms do not resolve quickly, an anal examination, re-diagnosis, and treatment review are necessary.
  • For pregnant women: Animal studies have not demonstrated teratogenic effects. However, there is no conclusive data on its safety in humans. Use only if prescribed, and carefully weigh the risks to the fetus. 
  • For breastfeeding women: There is no data on whether the medication is excreted in breast milk or its potential harm to nursing infants. It is best to avoid breastfeeding while using this medication.
  • Drug interactions: No drug interactions have been reported. However, if any abnormal signs suspected to be due to drug interactions occur, discontinue use and monitor. Seek medical attention if abnormalities persist.
  • Storage: Store the medication in a tightly sealed container, in a dry place, away from light, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.
