Visa & Entry Requirements

International patients traveling to Vietnam should ensure they meet the latest immigration requirements before departure. Depending on your nationality, you may be eligible for visa exemption or an e-Visa, while some travelers may need to apply for a visa through a Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate.
 
An e-Visa is available for most nationalities and is valid for up to 90 days, with both single-entry and multiple-entry options.

Vietnam currently does not require international travelers to present COVID-19 vaccination certificates or testing results upon entry.
 
However, patients are encouraged to review the latest travel and public health advisories before departure. Depending on the season, some regions may experience mosquito-borne illnesses such as dengue fever, so appropriate preventive measures are recommended.

Before departure, please ensure you have a valid passport, an appropriate visa (or visa exemption), your flight itinerary, Vinmec appointment confirmation, and accommodation details. These documents will help facilitate your entry into Vietnam and your admission to the hospital.

Medical Records

Providing complete medical information allows our physicians to better understand your condition and prepare an appropriate treatment plan. Please bring your recent medical records, laboratory results, diagnostic imaging, current medications, and any relevant treatment history.

Medications

Bring enough personal medications for the entire duration of your stay in Vietnam. We also recommend carrying prescriptions (preferably in English) and any personal medical devices you may require during treatment or recovery.
 

When Carrying Medication(s) While Traveling

  • You have to declare to customs authorities if carrying:
    • Narcotic drugs
    • Psychotropic substances
    • Drug precursors used for medical purposes

  • Carry only the permitted quantities under Vietnamese regulations:

After landing at an international airport in Vietnam, patients will generally complete the following procedures:
